Recently it was learned that Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S) is endorsing a sweetened bid from Softbank instead of an offer from Dish (Nasdaq: DISH). According to Bloomberg, talks faltered because Sprint demanded a $3 billion breakup fee in case the deal was halted by regulators. Dish proposed a $1 billion fee instead.
