Android Continues to Take Share vs iOS, Windows Overtakes BlackBerry (AAPL) (GOOG) (MSFT) (BBRY)

According to data from IDC, Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android had 75% of the global smartphone operating system market in Q1. This was up from 59.1% last year. Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iOS had 17.3%, a decline from 23% year-over-year. Microsoft (NYSE: MSFT) Windows Phone market share ticked higher to 3.2% from 2% last year. This was enough to put Windows in the number three spot, as it topped BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) which was down to 2.9% from 6.4% last year.
