Furiex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: FURX) 50.6% HIGHER; confirmed that Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of three new type 2 diabetes therapies, NESINA (alogliptin) and the fixed-dose combination therapies, OSENI (alogliptin and pioglitazone) and KAZANO (alogliptin and metformin HCl), for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in adults as adjuncts to diet and exercise. Under its agreement with Takeda, Furiex is entitled to receive a $25 million milestone payment as a result of this approval, as well as royalties on sales in the United States and potential sales-based milestones
Repros Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: RPRX) 27.9% LOWER; provided a revised date for expected clinical results from the first pivotal study, ZA-301, of Androxal in the treatment of secondary hypogonadism. Actual results will depend on, among other things, sales for the remainder of the year, expenses and normal year-end processing. Fiscal year 2012 is a 53-week year which will end February 2, 2013; fiscal year 2011 was a 52 week year which ended January 28, 2012.
Coffee Holding Co. (Nasdaq: JVA) 12.0% LOWER; reports FY12 sales of $173.66 million, from $146.76 million in FY11. Net income was 37 cents per share, from 14 cents the prior year. Gross margins improved 1 point to 6.8 percent.
BioLineRx Ltd. (Nasdaq: BLRX) 11.7% HIGHER; entered into an agreement (the “Agreement”) with Biokine Therapeutics Ltd. to in-license the rights to BL-8040 for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia, as well as other types of hematological cancer. The closing of the transaction was subject to formal approval of the Office of the Chief Scientist of Israel’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor.
