January 9, 2013 5:38 PM EST
Hanmi Financial (Nasdaq: HAFC) is currently halted in after-hours trading, with shares ending up about 8 percent for the session.

Bloomberg reported late that the firm might be in sales talks, hiring DelMorgan & Co. to advise.

Hanmi might attract interest from the likes of BBCN Bancorp (Nasdaq: BBCN) and Wilshire Bancorp (Nasdaq: WIBC), both of which are based in Los Angeles, Cali., just like Hanmi.

The firm has assets of $2.8 billion and a market cap of about $481 million.

BBCN is the largest Korean-American bank in the U.S., boasting assets of $5.3 billion, while Wilshire is the third-largest at $2.6 billion.
