The transactions between Freeport-McMoRan Copper (NYSE: FCX) and both Plains Exploration & Production (NYSE: PXP) and McMoRan Exploration Co (NYSE: MMR) have received early termination of the waiting period under the FTC's Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976.
