Leerink Swann cut its price target on Amicus Therapeutics (NASDAQ: FOLD) from $9 to $5 after the company reported Wednesday that Phase III study ('011) of Amigal monotherapy in Fabry disease missed its primary and secondary endpoints. However, they maintained an Outperform rating.

The firm notes, FOLD has two more shots on goal for Amigal monotherapy with 12-month data from study 011 in 1H13 and study 012 data in 2014.

"We also see other sources of value for the chaperone technology such as combination therapy with enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) where MEDACorp specialists are most interested, especially in other lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs) such as Pompe disease where the need is even greater, and AT 2220 is still unpartnered."
