In May investors learned of GNC’s new Gold Card program, which had launched in four pilot markets. Today, analysts at Deutsche Bank say they believe the new program has been rolled out to at least six test markets. This includes last week’s large rolled out in New York City and New Jersey.

"We believe [the roll out] underscores the company’s conviction in the new program and -- assuming there’s no major disruption in this major test market -- could set the foundation for a nationwide roll-out sometime in 2013." said analyst Charles Grom.

Based on results from earlier test markets, analysts expect the nationwide roll-out to positively impact traffic by driving incremental comp and EPS growth.

Deutsche Bank has a Hold rating on GNC Corp. (NYSE: GNC) with a price target of $42.00.
