Merge Healthcare Incorporated (NASDAQ: MRGE) is seeing some mid-day aciton Thursday with DealReporter saying first round bids are due next week.
On September 6, 2012, the healthcare IT company announced plans to explore options including a potential sale of the company. It hired New York-based Allen & Company as its advisor.
PE firms are seen as likely bidders for the company although General Electric and Toshiba might also get involved.
Shares of MRGE are up 3.8 percent mid-day to $3.84. It has traded as high as $4.05 since the strategic options news after trading at $3.29 prior to the news.
