Following dismal numbers tied to Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone 5 sales for its debut weekend, traders are keeping an eye on component suppliers.
Names that got a pop late last week on anticipation of record-breaking iPhone 5 sales include: TriQuint Semi (Nasdaq: TQNT), Skyworks Solutions (Nasdaq: SWKS), Avago Tech (Nasdaq: AVGO), Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM), STMicro (NYSE: STM), Broadcom (Nasdaq: BRCM), Cirrus (Nasdaq: CRUS), and OmniVision Tech (Nasdaq: OVTI). Accessory maker ZAGG, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZAGG) might also see some weakness today. All are lower on Monday's session.
Shares of Apple are also down in early trading. The company reported selling 5 million iPhone 5 units in its opening weekend, versus analyst expectations for sales of 8 million to 10 million (or more) units.
