Norfolk Southern (NSC) Cuts Q3 Outlook as Volume, Fuel Surcharges Weigh

Norfolk Southern Corp. (NYSE: NSC) shares are getting hit, down over 5.5 percent in late trading Wednesday, after issuing a warning earlier for third-quarter results.
According to the transportation giant, third-quarter 2012 EPS will range from $1.18 to $1.25, versus $1.60 reported for the second quarter and $1.59 reported in the same period last year.
The Street consensus is currently looking for EPS of $1.64.
Revs are also expected to be down $120 million from $2.889 billion reported last year. The Street is are $2.91 billion, an increase from last year and last quarter.
