Barclays on Retail: Mattresses - Labor Day Preview
Analyst, Jessica Schoen, said, "Labor Day has historically been a very important mattress selling holiday, also marking the end of the popular summer-selling season. Heading into this year's holiday weekend, we would like to provide an overview of the relative positioning of the mattress companies we cover, as well as give an update on trends in the industry overall. We will also preview 2Q12 earnings for Mattress Firm (Nasdaq: MFRM), which we expect to be released on September 6 after the market close. The company's fiscal second quarter ended on July 31, 2012, so although the Labor Day period will not be included in their results, there could potentially be some preliminary indications of trends over the weekend."
Schoen also sees solid growth opportunity in Select Comfort (Nasdaq: SCSS), but thinks the company's biggest challenge is brand awareness.
