Dow Adds 80 Points to Rally as Draghi to Discuss New Possibilities for ECB Action
US stocks jumped about 0.6 percent higher in early-afternoon trade as we are hearing Mario Draghi just said he will hold talks with Bundesbank's Jens Weidmann related to potentially new measures the ECB could take. The proposals could including bond buying, interest rate cuts, or newer long-term refinancing initiatives.
The Dow is now up 220 points to 13,109 from Thursday's close and the Nasdaq is up 65 points, or about 2.3 percent, to 2,958. The S&P 500 has importantly pushed over the 1,380 level.
