Jefferies maintains a 'Hold' on NextEra Energy (NYSE: NEE) price target of $71.00 (from $70.00).
Analyst, Paul B. Fremont, said, "NextEra reported adjusted 2Q earnings of $1.26, above consensus of $1.16, versus Jefferies estimate of $1.15 and $1.18 in the same period a year ago. Drivers for the quarterly improvement were increased earnings at the utility and the absence of a 2Q12 impairment charge at Energy Resources."
Lowers current qtr EPS from $1.40 to $1.35, but lifts FY12 EPS estimate from $4.50 to $4.55.
