Needham & Company maintains a 'Hold' on Cubist Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CBST).
Analyst, Alan Carr, said, "Cubist reported $200.2M in 2Q12 U.S. Cubicin sales (+18.7 y/y), above consensus $198M and our $195M estimates. Management believes 2 min infusion and continuing improvements to physician comfort level with the drug are driving growth. GAAP EPS of $0.58 exceeded expectations (our $0.47; Street $0.45), due in part to recognition of a $5M bonus payment from Optimer. We maintain our rating, awaiting ceftolozane, CB-315, and CB-5945 progression through Phase 3 trials."
FY12 EPS estimate raised from $1.65 to $1.91 and FY13 from $0.63 to $0.69.
