The following is a list of stocks crossing the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) and are either above or below the metric. The 50-day is considered an indicator of a potential near-term trend formation.

- VIVUS, Inc. (Nasdaq: VVUS) - down 0.8 percent. Traders getting in ahead of the Qnexa PDUFA, expected to happen sometime Tuesday. Notably, VIVUS has been shifting between positive and negative territories all session as rumors continue to fly.

- DISH Network (Nasdaq: DISH) - up 4.4 percent. Wells Fargo issued arguments to dispel five negative assumptions today.
- Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE: UA) - up 3.4 percent. Might be getting some positive sentiment heading into the London Olympics, which are expected to start on July 27th. The Stock has seen a little resistance with the 100-day SMA, though it crossed above both Tuesday.
- Vale SA (NYSE: VALE) - up 0.4 percent. Moving higher as sentiment returns to Brazil on improved growth expectations for the latter part of 2012. Vale's action today,. crossing then getting back above the 50-day, might indicate a support level for the shares.
- NVIDIA Corp. (Nasdaq: NVDA) - down 2.7 percent. Nomura issued a ho-hum note Tuesday, following NVIDIA's modem win with ASUS.
- State Street Corp (NYSE: STT) - down 5.6 percent. Reportedsecond-quarter EPS of $1.01 on revs of $2.42 billion, which were mixed to expectations. Also announced the acquisition of Goldman Sachs Administration Services (GSAS) from Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) for $550 million.
- The Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE: HD) - down 1.4 percent. Earlier, Janney Montgomery Scott cut Home Depot from Buy to Neutral, moving its price target from $53 down to $51.
- Deere & Co. (NYSE: DE) - down 1.3 percent. Deere succumbing to a downgrade at JPMorgan today, from Neutral to Underweight. The firm sliced its target of Deere from $98 to $78, a 20 percent move.
