Wells Fargo Notes 'Intensifying Competition' for Elite Universities in China (EDU) (AMBO)

An analyst at Wells Fargo made some bullish comments on New Oriental Education (NYSE: EDU) and Ambow Education (Nasdaq: AMBO) Monday morning.

The firm's Trace Urdan highlighted an essay in Inside Higher Ed "detailing the intensifying competition for spots in elite universities in China, which we note is a demand driver of gaokao test prep courses offered by New Oriental and Ambow Education..." Urdan said data in the essay "is consistent with the strong continuing demand described by AMBO management last week."

Urdan maintains Outperform ratings on both New Oriental and Ambow.
