Stocks in Life Science Tools sector are under pressure Friday heading into the last hour of morning trade as Credit Suisse's Vamil Divan said he is cautious into second-quarter results, expected out over the last two weeks of July. Divan cited continued macro uncertainty, currency concerns, challenges in Europe, and the overhanging budget cuts from the US's National Institutes of Health.
While the analyst reduced 2012 and 2013 sales estimates for Cepheid (Nasdaq: CPHD), Illumina (Nasdaq: ILMN), Waters (NYSE: WAT), QIAGEN (Nasdaq: QGEN), Life Tech (Nasdaq: LIFE) and Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE: TMO), most price targets were maintained. Divan, however, did boost his target on Cepheid from $45 to $50. Divan sees Illumina shares at $55 over the next year, Waters shares at $84, QIAGEN shares at $17, Life Tech shares at $53, and shares of Thermo Fisher at $66.
