Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 06/26: (NWSA) (LXRX) (SUPN) High; (RIMM) (PCX) (ANR) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • News Corp. (Nasdaq: NWSA) high of $21.75. News Corp affirmed it was conducting internal talks to restructure the company into two separate public companies. Investors are loving it, pushing the all-time highs.

  • Lexicon Pharma (Nasdaq: LXRX) high of $2.36. After moving higher Monday on strong LX4211 Phase 2b data, shares were added to Stifel Nicolaus' "Select List" today, with its price target increased from $3 to $4.

  • Supernus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUPN) high of $15.00. Supernus ripped 160 percent higher to its new mark Tuesday following a release stating that it received a tentative approval letter from the FDA for Trokendi XR. The FDA said no additional clinical trails will be needed.

  • Ryland Group Inc. (NYSE: RYL) high of $24.33. Ryland and other homebuilders higher following data earlier showing the S&P/Case-Shiller index dropped 1.9 percent in April from the same period the prior year. The decline was the smallest since November 2010.

    Shares moved 4.4 percent to its new high today.
52-Week Low:
  • Research In Motion Limited (Nasdaq: RIMM) low of $8.83. RIM lower as Sterne Agee's Shaw Wu trimmed numbers into first-quarter results. For more on the adjustments, click here.

  • Patriot Coal Corp. (NYSE: PCX) low of $1.02. Patriot continues lower on perpetual weakness in the energy sector, specifically coal as nat gas and crude continue to become attractive alternatives as they become cheaper. Shares are well off highs near $25 hit last July, trading nearly under $1.

  • Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE: ANR) low of $7.46. Alpha Natural is also lower as the energy sector remains pressured. Alpha Natural is demonstrating similar moves to Patriot, shares off from annual highs hit last summer. Shares are also well below 50-, 100-, and 200-day moving averages, highlighting what sort of decline its been.
