Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 06/25: (LXRX) (SNTA) (DG) High; (NOK) (VTUS) (KEX) (HAL) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Lexicon Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: LXRX) high of $2.06. Lexicon said SGLT 1 and 2 inhibitor LX4211 showed significant data in reducing HbA1c, body weight, and blood pressure in Phase 2b. For more color, click here.

  • Synta Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SNTA) high of $8.50. Synta higher as Jefferies doubled its price target from $7 to $14 ahead of GALAXY Interim Data.

    Shares were up about 17.4 percent to the new mark.

  • Dollar General Corp. (NYSE: DG) high of $53.44. T-Mobile USA and Dollar General announced the launch of a new prepaid phone sales and service plan. For more color, click here.

    Shares have been up and down all day, but are 1 percent better in the afternoon session.
52-Week Low:
  • Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) low of $2.14. Nokia sank 10.1 percent Monday following continued worries over its near-term future following news last week that Windows Phone 8 will not be compatible with the current version.

  • Ventrus Biosciences Inc. (Nasdaq: VTUS) low of $4.85. Ventrus Biosciences said its iferanserin Phase 3 did not meet endpoints in patients with hemorrhoidal disease. Shares slammed 60.4 percent to the new low.

  • Kirby Corporation (NYSE: KEX) low of $. Kirby says it expects 2012 second quarter net earnings to be in the $0.80 to $0.85 per share range, below Kirby's previously announced earnings guidance range of $0.97 to $1.02 per share, but above 2011 second quarter earnings of $.77 per share. The Street is looking for EPS of $0.96.

  • Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL) low of $26.55. Halliburton, as well as others in the energy sector, getting hit Monday as crude prices continue to tumble. Shares are now below $79 for the third-straight session and at the lowest point since last October.
