Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.26 per share, or $1.04 annualized. This is a 7.2% increase from the prior dividend of $0.2425.
The dividend will be payable on July 27, 2012, to stockholders of record on July 6, 2012, with an ex-dividend date of July 3, 2012.
The annual yield on the dividend is 2.8 percent.
Medtronic's dividend has more than doubled over the past five years, and the latest announcement marks the company's 35th consecutive year of increased dividend payments.
"We are committed to returning 50 percent of our free cash flow each year through dividends and share repurchases," the CEO said.
