Shares of McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) are outperforming the broader stock market Thursday afternoon despite an earlier warning from Janney's Mark Kalinowski. While the US's major averages are down about 0.3-0.7 percent, shares of McDonald's are unchanged at $89.41.
Kalinowski, citing a recent meeting with soon-to-be CEO Don Thompson, said same-store sales within the US slowed during the last 10 days of April amid worse-than-expected demand for chicken and premium burgers.
McDonald's normally issues its sales metrics on the 8th of each month.
Kalinowski and Janney maintain a Buy rating and $115 price target on shares of McDonald's. The analyst's price target represents potential upside of nearly 29 percent from where McDonald's shares are currently trading.
