Retail Doesn't Fair Well Despite Wal-Mart Beat
SPDR S&P Retail (NYSE: XRT), which tracks retail sector stocks in the S&P 500, is lower today. The market has been hit with a slew of bad news today, including headlines out of Europe and weak manufacturing data.
Despite solid numbers out of Wall Mart Stores (NYSE: WMT) this morning, the sector has a clearly negative tone. Dollar Tree Inc. (NASDAQ: DLTR) is trading lower after it reported 2Q guidance lower than analysts estimates.
XRT last traded down 2.4 percent to $57.62.
