Embattled smartphone maker Research In Motion Limited (Nasdaq: RIMM) is seeing pre-open interest Wednesday as the only thing that can apparently save the company resurfaces... takeover rumors.
The UK's DailyMail reported that Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) has its sights set on a takeover of RIM. The article even mentions a takeover price of $30 per share, or 170% above current levels.
While the rumors are giving shares of RIM a little bump this morning, investors shouldn't get their hopes up. The DailyMail is known for reporting bunk rumors on U.S. stocks. The chances of a deal between the two happening is close to 0%.
