Needham & Company maintains a 'Hold' on Intersil (NASDAQ: ISIL).

Analyst, Vernon Essi, Jr., said, "ISIL hosted its Investor & Analyst day which, as expected, focused on the revenue opportunities in its “Top 10 Growth Drivers” which by their calculation offer an incremental $700M in SAM by 2016. The surprise, however, was ISIL announcing its intent to reduce OPEX to drive toward a 24% OM at $200M in quarterly revenue, which would positively impact EPS. Of all the growth drivers outlined, we believe ISIL’s Thunderbolt active cable product is one of the bigger hits that has a reasonable chance of successfully penetrating the market."

Essi also said the company's other, less visible highlights, were regarding video security and website overhaul. The overall tone of the meeting was positive, but Essi sees a long road of restructuring to be completes before turning more positive on shares.
