Sprint (NYSE: S) shares have popped nearly 3 percent following reports out of Bloomberg that Deutsche Telekom could be in talks with MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS) related to a possible merger with T-Mobile USA. While the news seems like it would be a negative for most of the major carriers, the market seems to be reacting counter to that thinking right now.
Elsewhere: AT&T (NYSE: T) shares have moved modestly lower, while Verizon (NYSE: VZ) shares are mostly unchanged.
