GameStop (GME) Volatility Rises into Q1; Traders Mull Electronic Arts (EA) Guidance

May 8, 2012 3:07 PM EDT
GameStop (NYSE: GME) is making one of the arguably more unusual moves of the day following quarterly numbers issued by Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: EA) after the market closed Monday.

EA issued a fourth-quarter 2012 beat but revenue expectations for its first-quarter and fiscal 2013 missed views.

Implied volatility is up 57 percent from Monday's close and 218 percent above its historical average.

Shares are up 0.9 percent Tuesday on lighter volume. GameStop will report its first-quarter numbers on May 17th.
