Shares of Carter's (NYSE: CRI) ticked higher midday on a spike in volume following an intraday upgrade from an analyst at BofA/Merrill Lynch. The firm now rates the stock a Buy, up from Neutral previously.
Shares of Carter's are up about 6 percent Thursday afternoon following first-quarter results from the company this morning. Carter's reported quarterly sales of $552 million and EPS of 54 cents. The company said it is looking for second-quarter earnings of 26-30 cents and FY12 profit which will be up 20-25 percent over the $2.09 reported last year.
