Barclays maintains an 'Overweight' on Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) price target lowered from $62 to $58.

Analyst, James C. West, out in defense of the company, thinks Q1 earnings are settling and the N. American bottom is more manageable. Any further drop in Nat Gas should be offset by a rise in oil (activity). All in, International expansion has helped boost up the downturn in N. American and the company has performed solidly in a challenging environment.

However, West cuts FY12 EPS from $3.75 to $3.65 and FY13 from $4.50 to $4.20.
