Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: HGSI) 97.4% HIGHER; today announced that it has received an unsolicited proposal from GlaxoSmithKline plc (NYSE: GSK) to acquire HGS for $13.00 per share in cash. HGS also announced today that its Board of Directors has authorized the exploration of strategic alternatives in the best interests of shareholders, including, but not limited to, a potential sale of the Company.
Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (Nasdaq: MLNX) 43.1% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.51, $0.17 better than the analyst estimate of $0.34. Revenue for the quarter came in at $88.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $81.6 million.
Houston American Energy Corp (AMEX: HUSA) 37.8% LOWER; today announced that a determination has been made to cease efforts to test and complete the C7 and C9 formations in the Tamandua #1 sidetrack well. Despite favorable Logging-While-Drilling logs, cased-hole logs and mudlog shows, it was determined that continued investment in testing and completion is inadvisable at this time possibly due to formation damage while drilling. The Company is encouraged, however, by the information gained from this well for the other prospects on the block. The Tamandua #1 wellbore will be preserved in a way to allow for further evaluation, if at such time in the future it is determined that it is warranted.

eBay, Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY) 13.5% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.55, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.52. Revenue for the quarter came in at $3.3 billion versus the consensus estimate of $3.15 billion. Sees Q2 2012 EPS of $0.53-$0.55, versus the consensus of $0.54, and revenue of $3.25-$3.35 billion, versus the consensus of $3.36 billion. EBay also sees FY2012 EPS of $2.30-$2.35, versus prior guidance of $2.25-$2.30 and the consensus of $2.30. Sees FY2012 revenue of $13.8-$14.1 billion, versus the consensus of $13.85 billion.
Sinovac Biotech (Nasdaq: SVA) 13% HIGHER; could be reacting to the Human Genome bid. The stock plunged by almost 11 percent over the last hour of trade yesterday, so today's move essentially puts the stock back at the level prior to yesterday's late-day decline.
E-House (China) Holdings Limited (NYSE: EJ) 12.5% HIGHER; a merger between the company and China Real Estate Information Corporation (Nasdaq: CRIC) was approved today.
Digital Domain (Nasdaq: DDMG) 10.2% LOWER; pulling back after excitement over a (holographic posthumus) guest appearance by none other than Tupac during last Sunday's Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg performance at the Coachella Music Festival. Shares moved 30 percent higher through the week.
Basic Energy Services (NYSE: BAS) 10% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.58, $0.01 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.59. Revenue for the quarter came in at $370.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $358.5 million.
