UBS on U.S. Pharma - Large Cap and Specialty: Q1 Preview - Off to a Good Start
Analyst, Marc Goodman, said, "We still like the Generics: Watson (NYSE: WPI) and Mylan (NYSE: MYL) remain our two favorites: We still like WPI, as we believe Concerta will drive earnings upside, a Mucinex approval could drive earnings even higher, and a potential Lidoderm settlement could help with earnings visibility in the out years."
"Spec pharma remains interesting: Allergan (NYSE: AGN), Valeant (NYSE: VRX), Endo (Nasdaq: ENDP) and Warner Chilcott (Nasdaq: WCRX): AGN remains a core holding for its sustainable mid-teens EPS growth. VRX is still a favorite as we expect the "beat and raise" story augmented by addn’l accretive acquisitions to continue this year. The most inexpensive names in the sector remain ENDP and WCRX."
"In large-cap, Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) and Merck (NYSE: MRK) top picks: PFE remains our favorite as we expect a positive Tofa panel, Eliquis approval, and visibility for monetization of Nutrition and Animal Health all by midyear. We still want to get more positive on MRK as the year progresses because we like the risk reward on the late stage pipeline."
