Quest Software (Nasdaq: QSFT) shares took a sharp move lower heading into the last two hours of trade Wednesday amid a DealReporter piece which suggested the company's "go shop" initiative is not getting much interest.
If no other bids are seen, the company will merge into Insight Venture Partners in a $2 billion deal, or at about $23 per share in cash to Quest holders.
Shares of Quest are down 1.7 percent to $23.55 this afternoon.
