Landec Corp (NASDAQ: LNDC) 11% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.18, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter came in at $80.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $73.44 million. Raises its FY12 sales growth guidance from at least 5 percent to 9-10 percent.
Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: NBIX) 10.5% LOWER; announced efficacy and safety results from a Phase II trial of NBI-98854 in 37 tardive dyskinesia patients. For the final analysis, data from one site was removed due to the inconsistent and incorrect application of the efficacy assessment protocol. With this site removed, the results showed a significant reduction in tardive dyskinesia symptoms at end of two weeks of active treatment with 50mg once-daily doses of NBI-98854.
VASCO Data Security International, Inc. (NASDAQ: VDSI) 6% HIGHER; will replace O'Charley's Inc. (NASDAQ: CHUX) in the S&P SmallCap 600 index after the close of trading on Monday, April 2.
Apollo Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: APOL) 3.7% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.58, $0.21 better than the analyst estimate of $0.37. Revenue for the quarter came in at $969.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $932.82 million.
Hatteras Financial Corp. (NYSE: HTS) 2.1% LOWER; announced it commenced an underwritten public offering of 15,000,000 shares of its common stock pursuant to an effective registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Company also expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 2,250,000 shares of common stock to cover overallotments, if any.
Dollar General (NYSE: DG) 2% LOWER; announces 25 million share common stock offering. The shares are being sold by certain existing holders. The shareholders have granted the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 3.75 million shares of common stock.
QR Energy (NYSE: QRE) 1.7% LOWER; files to offer up to $200 million common units.
ISTA Pharma (Nasdaq: ISTA) INDICATED HIGHER; Bausch + Lomb, and ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. have signed a definitive agreement under which Bausch + Lomb will acquire ISTA for $9.10 per share in cash, or a total of approximately $500 million. The transaction, which has been unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2012.
