  • iPath S&P 500 VIX Short Term Fund (NYSE: VXX) down 6.01 percent to $16.25. The CBOE VIX near-term index is lower on Bernanke comments earlier Monday.

  • United States Natural Gas Fund (NYSE: UNG) down 1.40 percent to $17.58. With recent data from Baker Hughes showing rig counts dropping to their lowest levels since 2002 (652 versus 640 in 2002) and the end to unusually warm weather, there is still speculation about an oversupply and overproduction of the commodity.

Reuters said some analysts believe the rig count has to fall below 600 to make a significant dent, as drilling for crude and shifting to higher-value gas liquids still produces some dry gas output.
