UPDATE - Oppenheimer initiates coverage on Alexander & Baldwin (NYSE: ALEX) with an Outperform. PT $55.00.
Analyst, Ian A. Zaffino and Todd Brockett, said, "Set to split-up by 3Q12, we believe ALEX represents an interesting investment opportunity. This Hawaiian conglomerate will split its Jones Act ocean transportation & logistics business from its commercial real estate, land development and sugar business."
Oppenheimer analysts believe shares could hit $55 as fundamentals improve (recovery in Hawaiian construction), additional disclosures are issued and the spin-off approaches."
