Oppenheimer Reiterates Bullish View on Questcor Pharmaceuticals (QCOR) After Nephrologists Conversations

Oppenheimer reiterated its Outperform rating and $56 price target on Questcor Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: QCOR) Tuesday following nephrologists calls, which yielded positive takeaways on the Acthar opportunity in NS.

"We had the opportunity to speak with six US-based nephrologists, who see a total of 775 NS patients, and all of whom have had experience with Acthar," the analyst notes. "Overall, we come away thinking the most significant headwind facing Acthar adoption remains physician awareness, which we expect to be addressed by an expanding sales force and publication of additional studies."

Despite concerns, Acthar reimbursement appears very strong the firm notes. "Notably, nephrologist experience with Acthar has been highly positive, with ~65-70% of the target patient population (IMN and FSGS) exhibiting complete remission."
