Oppenheimer maintains an 'Outperform' on United Technologies (NYSE: UTX) price target raised from $85 to $100.
Oppenheimer analyst said, "UTX's analyst day provided abundant fodder for long-term optimism, but also many caveats for 2012. UTX argued convincingly that its industrial businesses are poised for cyclical recovery in the West and continued expansion in the East; that Fire & Security can relive the margin expansion that recently attended Carrier's transformation; that aero can coast on the commercial aero cycle and recent platform wins; and that Sikorsky can benefit from international sales and new DoD programs. But a slow start to 2012 shifts risk and the burden of proof to 2H12—as does proposed divestiture of several non-core assets. 2012 should ultimately provide a salutary reset and a base for future beats and raises."
Oppenheimer raises FY12 EPS estimate from $5.53 to $5.67 and FY13 from $6.58 to $6.69.
