Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.50 per share, or $2 annualized.

The dividend will be payable on May 1, 2012, to stockholders of record on April 10, 2012, with an ex-dividend date of April 5, 2012.

The annual yield on the dividend is 5.2 percent.
