Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 02/29: (NWSA) (AAPL) (WMB) High; (YPF) (VOCS) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • News Corporation (Nasdaq: NWSA) high of $20.35. News Corp. powering higher following the announced resignation of James Murdoch as News International' Executive Chairman. Shares moved 2.7 percent Wednesday to the new mark.

  • Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) high of $547.61. Apple, of course, moving to a new high today in anticipation of the next-generation iPad, which is expected to be unveiled at a March 7th meeting. Or, Apple is still undervalued and more folks are buying into it. Either way, shares are continuing to move higher.

  • Williams Companies (NYSE: WMB) high of $29.99. Williams up 3.4 percent to the new mark following earnings and an upgrade by Goldman Sachs Wednesday morning. For more color on the Goldman call, click here.

  • Cerus Corporation (Nasdaq: CERS) high of $4.09. Cerus reported mixed quarterly numbers Tuesday, but an upgrade by Baird -- from Neutral to Outperform -- might be one catalyst for the buying Wednesday.
52-Week Low:
  • YPF SA (NYSE: YPF) low of $25.25. YPF updated on its operations and outlook at a recent Board meeting. For more color, click here.

  • Vocus, Inc. (Nasdaq: VOCS) low of $13.10. Vocus lower following seemingly strong earnings and guidance Tuesday, as it got downgraded from Baird and Wunderlich Wednesday morning. Shares moved 42 percent to the new mark.
