BP moving higher after affirming that the U.S. District Court has today adjourned the start of the Deepwater Horizon Multi-District Litigation 2179 civil trial by one week, until Monday, March 5th. In addition, BP might be able to settle the case for about $14 billion, which doesn't include fines by federal and local government or claims brought between the company and its partner companies involved in the spill.

  • MedcoHealth Solutions (NYSE: MHS) high of $68.40. Express Scripts (Nasdaq: ESRX) and MedcoHealth Solutions are higher on reports FTC staff lawyers are behind the merger of the two. The deal still might not go through, it would be a rare occasion for the FTC to go against the staff recommendation.
52-Week Low:
  • Columbia Laboratories, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBRX) low of $0.64. Watson Pharmaceuticals (NYSE: WPI) and Columbia Labs confirmed that, as expected, Watson has received a complete response letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its New Drug Application (NDA 22-139) for progesterone vaginal gel 8 percent for use in the reduction of risk of preterm birth in women with a singleton gestation and a short uterine cervical length in the mid-trimester of pregnancy.

The FDA rejected the application for lack of statistical significance when using the gel.

  • RadioShack Corp. (NYSE: RSH) low of $7.06. RadioShack moving off of days' lows but is still negative on the session as the retailer stated off about 1.7 percent lower. Investors are leery of RadioShack's dividend whic, at 12.5 cents, yields 7 percent annually...one of the heftier payouts in the retail section.
