Oscar Gruss initiates coverage on Weight Watchers (NYSE: WTW) with a Hold. PT $70.00.
Analyst, Louis Meyer, said, "There are not any good comparables for WTW. Nutrisytem (Nasdaq: NTRI) is a direct competitor but has a much smaller market cap (~$320M) and Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF) is a marketing-oriented company with a network of independent distributors. Our general sense is that WTW is taking advantage of its high stock price (which exceeded $80/share three times in 2011) to return capital appreciation to investors in a strong equity market. We expect 1H12 operating challenges may overshadow the feel-good growth story post-tender."
