Leerink Swann is maintaining its Outperform rating on shares of Alexion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ALXN) and is raising its price target from $80 to $96 following the release of its Q4 results.

The firm highlights the company's pipeline is beginning to come together. Leerink Swann also noted there is some strong upside potential coming from the company FY12 guidance.

An analyst at Leerink Swann comments, "The company appears to have narrowed its near-term efforts for Soliris to three areas -- kidney transplant, myasthenia gravis, and neuromyelitis optica (NMO). We expect NMO Phase II data in 2012, as early as April at the AAN, and we continue to expect positive data. This expanded use for Soliris as well as asfotase alfa from ALXN's mid- to late-stage pipeline, while the company also has three Phase I agents with the coherent theme of novel agents for ultra-rare diseases."

For FY12, the firm reduced its EPS and revenues estimates from $1.07 billion and $1.64 to $783 million and $1.38.
