Genesee & Wyoming (GWR) Guides Q1, FY12 Below the Street; Shares Dip

Shares of Genesee & Wyoming (NYSE: GWR) are plunging in late-morning trade Wednesday as the company's Q4 conference call is currently going on. An exec just offered the following guidance:

• sees Q1 sales of $205 million, EPS of about 49 cents
  
• sees Q2 sales $220 million
  
• sees Q3 sales of $225 million
  
• sees Q412 sales of $235 million
  
• sees FY12 sales of about $885 million, EPS of about $2.85

Analysts on the Street are expecting the company to report Q1 sales of $209.8 million and FY12 sales of $908.1 million. The Street is looking for Q1 EPS of 63 cents and FY12 EPS of $3.15.

Genesee & Wyoming shares last traded at $60.22, down 5.7 percent from Tuesday's closing price. Notably, the stock opened flat and was down modestly prior to the start of the conference call.
