Coinstar (Nasdaq: CSTR) shares are hanging onto sharp gains Tuesday afternoon despite a headline from DealReporter which suggests the Department of Justice will study the deal between Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and Redbox. Shares of Coinstar last traded at $59.40, up 17.6 percent from Tuesday's close.
While a "study" of the deal is not necessarily a bad (or good) development, traders will often take the "shoot first, ask questions later" stance.
