Nomura Securities reiterates a 'Buy' on Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) price target of $62.00.
Analyst, Harry Curtis, said, "LVS’s Macau Sub, Sands China, announced a special dividend of $0.075/share (HK$0.58/share) last night...We expect LVS to announce a special dividend after the next board meeting (expect first week of February), which we believe could be ~$1/share. We estimate LVS had ~$3.8B on hand at 12/31/2011. If LVS does announce a $1 special dividend, then in conjunction with the sub’s dividend payout, ~$1B will be paid out."
Curtis doesn't expect a regular dividend to be announced (despite it being more desirable to investors), citing LVS's recent announcements of development opportunities (Japan and possibly Spain)
Curtis also said, "LVS is one of our favorite stocks and, in our view, has the strongest near-term catalysts in our space."
