Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 01/25: (AAPL) (CA) (TSS) High; (ERIC) (FTR) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) high of $454.45. Apple moving higher following first-quarter results issued after the mark yesterday that seemed to have given a new definition to the very meaning of the phrase "earnings beat." Apple received a veritable smörgåsbord of analyst price target and estimate changes across the board. For more from the analysts, click here.

  • CA Technologies (NYSE: CA) high of $26.21. CA Tech (CAT) also had some good news after the market closed. Earnings for CATs third-quarter were 65 cents per s hare on revenue of $1.26 billion, beating views calling for EPS of 54 cents and revs of $1.21 billion. CAT issued stronger than expected guidance for 2012 and a $2.5 billion capital allocation program which saw its dividend get boosted fourfold to 25 cents per quarter.

  • Total System Services (NYSE: TSS) high of $22.42. TSS is an earnings mover today as well. The Company reported EPS of 31 cents and revs of $472.8 million, compared to views calling for EPS of 31 cents and revs of $450.2 million.

    For 2012, TSS sees revs of $1.81 to $1.85 billion and EPS of $.26 to $1.28 per share, verusus views calling for revs of $1.84 billion and EPS of $1.27.

  • Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), high of $10.83. Lions Gate is ripping today, up over 11 percent on the session, following reports it received 8 Oscar nominations and is forming a new programming and development partnership with Televisa, the leading Hispanic media company in the world.
52-Week Low:
  • LM Ericsson Telephone Co. (Nasdaq: ERIC) low of $8.58. Ericsson getting hit after reporting fourth-quarter earnings of SEK 55 cents on revs of $63.7 billion. Earnings were a drastic drop from SEK 1.65 per share reported in the same period last year. Shares dropped over 16 percent to the new mark Wednesday.

  • Frontier Communications Corporation (NYSE: FTR) low of $4.70. Frontier moved just 1 percent lower again today following a close 2 percent lower Tuesday as the telecoms have been seeing some pressure recently. For it's quarter, Verizon (NYSE: VZ) noted some extra pressure on the sales of smartphones, but a decline of 1.5 percent in wireline revs and flat Segment EBITDA for the most recent quarter.
