Southern Company (SO) Shares Plunge as Q1, FY12 Guidance Looks Weak

Shares of Southern Company (NYSE: SO) have gone parabolic over the last half hour of trade as the company's Q4 conference call is underway.

The company's CFO Art Beattie said the company is looking for FY12 EPS of $2.58-$2.70, which compares to the Street estimate of $2.69.

Q1 EPS are expected to be about 45 cents, which compares to the Street estimate of 53 cents.
