Cantor Fitzgerald initiates coverage on Dendreon (NASDAQ: DNDN) with a Hold.

Cantor analyst says, "The shares have had ups and downs over the past few years as the market has attempted to value the company's groundbreaking product Provenge, the first therapeutic cancer vaccine. We believe that expectations have come down considerably, but that much heavy lifting still needs to occur to provide a clearer path forward."

"Dendreon's cost structure is not in line with what is normally observed among biotechnology companies, and this has created anxiety over the robustness of profitability. We believe that the company's efficiencies will improve but that this may not occur with consistency for some time."
