Goldman Sachs made negative comments on Sell-rated US Steel (NYSE: X), saying they would sell into the recent strength and ahead of Q4 results as they expect disappointing guidance for 1Q.
"If steel prices were to start slipping, we believe X would underperform the most due to its high leverage to steel prices," the firm commented.
Alternativly, Goldman said AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) Q1 could see upside due to lower iron cost in the quarter. They also like service centers over mills and see upside in Buy rated Reliance Stee (NYSE: RS) and Neutral rated Metals USA (Nasdaq: MUSA).
