Shares of US Steel (NYSE: X) are up about 5.5 percent Tuesday afternoon following an earlier call from Deutsche Bank's David Martin. The analyst added the stock to the firm's "Short-Term Buy" list.
Martin maintains a Buy rating and $42.50 price target on US Steel shares.
With the stock last trading at $27.89, Martin's price target implies potential price appreciation of more than 50 percent.
The entire metals complex is performing very strong Tuesday; iron and steel are leading this group. The SPDR S&P Metals and Mining ETF (NYSE: XME) is up 4 percent at last check.
