In early December, Charming Shoppes (Nasdaq: CHRS) reported plans to divest its Fashion Bug unit.
The NY Times Friday, however, is reporting Charming Shoppes itself has been approached by suitors as well.
Leading the bids was Ascena Retail Group (Nasdaq: ASNA), but sources said Ascena is mainly eying Lane Bryant and has no interest in Fashion Bug.
The Times said no formal proposal has been made yet, and neither company commented.
